OTC derivatives trade grows by 135%

The value of positions in the over-the-counter derivatives market has increased by 135% in the last three years to $516 trillion, the Bank for International Settlements finds.

The results of the Triennial Central Bank Survey of Foreign Exchange and Derivatives Market Activity show that, since the last survey in 2004, the derivatives market has grown by an average of 33% a year.
