Exporting benefits labour productivity
Exporting increases firms' labour productivity, finds a new paper from the Central Bank of Turkey.
The authors, examining the Turkish export sector, also find that larger and more productive firms are more likely to enter the export market. As a result, the best way to foster growth via exports is to implement microeconomic reforms that encourage firms to grow.
