Productivity leap needs more than just IT

Improvements in communication and information technology must be coupled with organisational changes and sound human resource policies if they are to boost productivity, research published by the Bank of Canada finds.

The research also indicates that management best practices matter a lot for productivity. However, further research is needed to identify whether the source string management performance is driven by competitive pressures or business school training.

The paper also states that
