ECB's French connection is still fuzzy

FEATURE - The next president of the European Central Bank will be a Frenchman, but the question is: Which one?, asks the Wall Street Journal, 3 April.

The expected successor to ECB chief Wim Duisenberg is Bank of France governor Jean-Claude Trichet, but he is under investigation for his alleged role in a banking scandal at Credit Lyonnais.
