Botswana releases Monetary Policy Statement


The Bank of Botswana on February 22 published its Monetary Policy Statement 2012. The 20-page document explains how economic pressures have kept inflation high in the country, with the rate soaring past the target range in 2011.

The central bank said the impact of the eurozone sovereign debt crisis, supply-chain disruptions following the major earthquake in Japan last year and high commodity prices all played their part in the problems.
