Federal Reserve – Beige Book (January 2011)
Employment levels in the United States rose modestly in the six weeks to 3 January the Federal Reserve's latest Beige Book, out Wednesday, said.
The report, prepared by the Boston Federal Reserve Bank, said all districts, with the exception of New York, St. Louis and Minneapolis, indicated employment levels were rising modestly.
Employers in Cleveland, Richmond and Atlanta said some firms were raising work hours instead of or in addition to hiring. Meanwhile Boston, New York, Atlanta, Chicago
