Bangladesh Bank - Annual Report 2007-2008

The Bangladeshi economy expanded at a satisfactory pace during the 2008 financial year despite a number of natural disasters, notes the latest Annual Report from the country's central bank.

The report notes that the government's bid to stimulate growth and reduce poverty coupled with the prudent monetary policy of the central bank contributed toward a 6.2% expansion. The report adds that economic growth was also supported by rapid growth in exports and surging remittances.
