Bank of Japan Monthly Report, February 2007

The Bank of Japan published the English version of its February 2007 monthly report on Friday 23 February. In the report the BOJ left its assessment of the economy unchanged.

But the central bank revised its view on personal consumption and said it is moving firmly.

In the previous report the central bank said the pace of rises in consumption was only modest.

The BOJ also revised its view on consumer prices, saying year-on-year changes in the core consumer price index, which excludes fresh food
