Bank of England Inflation Report, February 2006

The Bank of England published its February 2006 Inflation Report on 15 February. Governor Mervyn King told a press conference the outlook for the UK economy is "benign" and the slowing of consumer spending growth that began in the middle of 2004 "appears to have been relatively short-lived."

"The outlook described in today's report contains a benign central view of steady growth with inflation remaining close to target over the forecast period," King said.
