Reserve Bank of Malawi - Annual Report 2005
The decline in economic activity in 2005 was influenced by the dry spell that hit the country during the growing season. In addition to slackening activity in the agricultural sector, high global oil prices also affected national output. Growth in large-scale agriculture plummeted by 9.3 percent compared to a growth of 19.6 percent in 2004.
