Central Bank of Cyprus - Annual Report 2007

Cyprus's successful euro accession was the culmination of the collective efforts of the country's finance ministry and central bank, notes Athanasios Orphanides, the governor of the Central Bank of Cyprus, in his foreword to the institution's latest Annual Report.

"Our accession to the economically sound and stable euro area on 1 January 2008 was, I believe, one of the most important achievements in our country's modern economic history," the governor said.
