Reserve Bank of India - Annual Report 2007-2008

Although growth moderated marginally, the year to June 2008 was the third year in succession in which the Indian economy expanded by 9% or more, the Reserve Bank of India states in its latest Annual Report.

This meant that the economy achieved the highest average growth rate during any three year period in the history of India since the country became independent in 1947.
