National Bank of Cambodia - Annual Report 2006

The Cambodian economy expanded by an impressive 10.4% in 2006, buoyed by structural reform aimed at enhancing economic competitiveness and reducing poverty.

The growth rate has fallen slightly after reaching an all-time high of about 13.5% the previous year. The central bank put this down to less favourable conditions for agricultural production. However, inflation slowed by 3.9 percentage points to 2.8% in December 2006.
