ECB on structural reforms

The European Central Bank (ECB) has published, on 6 July, a report on "Structural Reforms in EMU and the Role of Monetary Policy: a Survey of the Literature."

The report, written by Nadine Leiner-Killinger, Victor Lopez Perez, Roger Stiegert and Giovanni Vitale, considers the relevance of structural reforms, the questions surrounding their "unsatisfactory" progress and a "two-handed" approach to an active role for monetary policy in the Euro area.
