National Bank of Moldova - Annual Report 2006

Moldova's economy grew relatively slowly in 2006. GDP increased by 4%, in comparison with 7.5% in 2005 and 7.4% in 2004.

Inflation also rose from 10% in 2005 to 14.1%.

The central bank blamed the slower growth on the less productive agricultural and industrial sectors.
