'The Region' from the Minneapolis Fed, Sep 06

The Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis has published its regular magazine, The Region, for September 2006. The latest edition carries an interview with Harvard professor Martin Feldstein in which he comments on the current course of monetary policy and central bank communication.

"The rhetoric that has worked for the last 20-plus years since Paul Volcker took over was an emphasis on "price stability." That didn't come with a precise number, but I think he defined price stability-and Greenspan
