RBA launches second banknote in new series, celebrating native authors

The Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) has released the design of the second denomination in the "New Generation" banknote series, set to enter circulation in September 2017.

In a statement published today (February 17), the RBA announced Australia's new A$10 banknote would celebrate the work of two national writers, Mary Gilmore and AB 'Banjo' Paterson, both of whom appear on the current $10 note.

"Their work is recognised in several design elements on the banknote, including images of a pen nib
