Lagarde reappointed as IMF managing director
Fund has been ‘reinvigorated’ by Lagarde’s leadership, Carstens says
Christine Lagarde welcomed her formal reappointment to the post of managing director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) on February 19. Lagarde was the only nominee for the role, but needed to be confirmed by the IMF's executive board.
Lagarde said she "greatly" appreciated the "continued trust and support of the Fund's Executive Board" and its 188 member countries. The IMF was focused on helping member countries navigate "a number of important transitions" in the global economy, she said
