Chile bides time on macro-prudential debate

Central Bank of Chile will continue to ‘watch’ macro-prudential debate, says Vergara

The Central Bank of Chile will wait to see which macro-prudential policies work elsewhere before updating its own framework, governor Rodrigo Vergara said on November 5.

He told a conference in Santiago, the country was fortunate to be able to watch the international debate on macro-prudential policy "without needing to take hasty policy measures", but it would likely need to respond in time.
