Gertjan Vlieghe to replace Miles on BoE monetary policy committee
Economist used to be assistant to Mervyn King and is now partner at an asset manager
Economist Gertjan Vlieghe will replace David Miles on the Bank of England's (BoE) Monetary Policy Committee (MPC), the UK government revealed today (July 28).
Vlieghe will join the MPC on September 1 as an external member, after Miles completes his second three-year term on the committee.
In taking up his new role he will leave his current position as partner and senior economist at asset manager Brevan Howard, though it is understood he will retain existing vested rights to a share of future
