Quarterly review highlights new communication challenges for central banks

Geopolitical tensions are adding expectations of policy tightening as central banks face new communication challenges, researchers from the Bank for International Settlements have found.

The BIS’s quarterly review, published today (September 14), follows the European Central Bank’s rate hike on September 10, and comes ahead of decisions this week by the US Federal Reserve, the Bank of England and the Bank of Japan.
