Brazilian deputy picked as BIS deputy general manager
Luiz Awazu Pereira da Silva to join the BIS as deputy general manager
The Bank for International Settlements (BIS) has appointed Luiz Awazu Pereira da Silva, currently a deputy governor of the Central Bank of Brazil, as its deputy general manager.
Silva will replace Hervé Hannoun when he retires in September, beginning a five-year term on October 1. Hannoun has been deputy general manager since 2006.
