Cuban central bank to issue three new large-value banknotes

The Central Bank of Cuba is expanding its range of banknotes to include denominations of 200, 500 and 1,000 domestic pesos – a result of its plans to unify the country's dual-currency system.

The new notes will begin circulating in February. The highest value note the central bank issues currently is worth 100 pesos, the lowest one peso. These will remain in circulation alongside the larger notes.
