BoE's Haldane says time is right to review MPC schedule
Soon-to-be chief economist and MPC member vows to retain independent views
The time may now be right for the Bank of England (BoE) to assess whether its Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) meets too often, the bank's incoming chief economist Andrew Haldane suggested yesterday.
Haldane will join the MPC in June as part of a wider reshuffle of top-level personnel announced by the bank last month that will see him swap jobs with Spencer Dale, who will move to Haldane's current job as director of financial stability.
Haldane noted during a parliamentary committee hearing
