Serbia's Đelić calls for central bank governor to quit politics
The former Serbian minister of finance who brought in the country's current – though now amended – central bank law in 2003 has called for the current governor to quit her post as deputy leader of the ruling political party.
Jorgovanka Tabaković was appointed as governor in August last year after her predecessor, Dejan Šoškić, quit in protest at amendments to the central bank law allowing the government to remove the leadership of the National Bank of Serbia more easily.
