OECD’s White says ECB supervision is back to front

The European Union's approach to banking supervision is "completely backward", according to William White, chairman of the Economic and Development Review Committee at the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development.

In an interview published in the latest edition of the Central Banking journal, White says the current steps towards banking supervision and regulation are a form of crisis prevention that fails to recognise Europe is already in the grip of a crisis.
