US president says Hungarian PM ‘certainly asked for’ protection arrangement
Donald Trump has denied offering Hungary’s central bank a swap line-like arrangement.
The US president told Politico today (December 9) that although Hungary’s prime minister Viktor Orbán had “certainly asked for” a “financial shield”, Trump had not promised him such an arrangement.
