Fed's Fisher slams ‘fiscal misfeasance’ of US government

Richard Fisher, the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas president, pleaded with the United States Congress to "get on" with fixing the "fiscal mess in Washington" in a speech at the Economic Club of New York yesterday.

Members of the US Congress struck an eleventh-hour deal on Wednesday night to end the federal government shutdown that saw the country's public services grind to a halt for three weeks.

Fisher warned the deal only "kicks the can down the road" as the government is still on track to hit
