Parliament launches inquiry into independence of Bank of England’s FPC

UK members of parliament today launched an inquiry into the independence of the Bank of England's Financial Policy Committee (FPC), after expressing "serious concerns" over one of the committee's new appointees last week.

The MPs, who sit on the UK parliament's Treasury select committee, raised questions over the different rules governing the appointment and conduct of members of the FPC compared with members of the MPC.
