BoE’s Weale wary of further easing damaging inflation expectations

Martin Weale, an external member of the Bank of England's Monetary Policy Committee (MPC), today suggested the central bank may have to avoid further easing to keep inflation expectations anchored at 2%.

Weale told an audience in Birmingham that while inflation expectations are under control, the MPC's hands are tied by the prospect of an additional inflationary shock dislodging medium-term expectations.
