Netherlands Bank appoints new chair of supervisory board

Rinnooy Kan

The Netherlands Bank has named Alexander Rinnooy Kan as the new chairman of the bank's supervisory board from July 1. Rinnooy Kan is currently chairman of the Social and Economic Council of the Netherlands and was president of the Dutch employers confederation, the VNO, from 1991–96.

He will replace Fokko van Duyne, who will stand down from the supervisory board having served the maximum allowed period of 12 years.
