New Zealand issues risk guidelines for non-banks

The Reserve Bank of New Zealand released new risk management guidelines for non-bank deposit-taking institutions on Monday.

Under the guidelines, deposit-taking finance companies, building societies and credit unions will be required to have a risk management programme from 1 September. Their programme will need to show how they will identify and manage credit, liquidity, market and operational risks.
