ECB board member speaks on financial crisis role

European Central Bank executive board member José Manuel González-Páramo gave a keynote speech at RiskEurope on "Managing risk: The role of the central bank in a financial crisis". In the speech, given in Frankfurt in early June at Risk magazine's annual event, González-Páramo discusses when it is appropriate for a central bank to engage with the markets to help support its monetary policies.
