Study says EU membership might not boost growth

According to a Bank of Estonia study, Estonia's economic growth would not receive an automatic boost after Estonia joins the European Union (EU).

The author of the study, Martti Randveer, said that there is a clear positive connection between the income and price levels of different countries. "According to an approximate estimate, a 1% income level increase in Estonia in medium term period should, if all other conditions are equal, cause a 0.5%-0.7% increase of price level," he wrote.
