Euro dip not caused by EU rejection says Liebscher

The euro hasn't been affected by the crisis facing the European Union following the rejection of its proposed constitution, the governor of Austria's Central Bank said on Tuesday 21 June.

The light losses the euro suffered recently "can't be attributed to the political or economic situation in Europe," the Austria Press Agency quoted Klaus Liebscher as saying. Instead, the slip was caused by a series of data indicating the strength of the US economy, he said.

Liebscher said the markets don't react
