Putin nominates Russia's Ignatyev for new term

Russian President Vladimir Putin has nominated Sergei Ignatyev for a second four-year term as Central Bank chairman, the presidential press service has said.

Ignatyev, a low-profile technocrat who has held senior Finance Ministry posts, has steered the bank through an oil-fuelled boom during which inflation has gradually fallen but stayed stubbornly above single-digit rates.
