BNM's Zeti pleased with 'orderly' ringgit
The governor said the country's economic strength was its economic flexibility, and the strengthening ringgit showed how the economy had been able to adjust to varying conditions.
"We always see two-way flows, sometimes you see appreciation and some times depreciation in the currency. So far, we are very pleased that we see orderly conditions in our foreign market," Zeti told reporters in Kuala Lumpur on Tuesday.
Zeti said: "Our policy has always been consistent from the very beginning that we would ensure very orderly conditions in our foreign exchange market and this is important to support the exporters."
"What is very important in the foreign exchange market is that we do not see sudden and disruptive changes," she said, adding that the central bank would maintain the level of the diversification of its reserves."
