PBOC closely monitoring inflation pressure

Inflation pressure is building up from rising consumer prices in China and requires the attention of all branches of the People's Bank of China (PBoC), the central bank-backed Financial News reported Wednesday 7 February, citing PBoC vice governor Xiang Junbo as saying.

At an annual conference of the PBoC, Xiang was quoted as saying the central bank will continue its prudent monetary policy in 2007 while controlling liquidity and increasing the flexibility of the yuan.
