Hayami says to supply ample funds for RTGS start

Bank of Japan (BOJ) Governor Masaru Hayami said on Friday the central bank would supply ample funds to the money market to prepare for the adoption of the Real-Time Gross Settlement (RTGS) system on January 4.

Speaking to reporters after attending a monthly meeting of economic ministers and ruling party leaders, Hayami said that the Liberal Democratic Party's policy chief, Shizuka Kamei, had asked him to supply ample funds until the year-end.
