MEPs vote to alter report on ECB

Conservative and liberal MEPs voted Tuesday in Strasbourg to dramatically alter the French Green MEP Alain Lipietz's Report on the 2003 Annual Report of the European Central Bank to such an extent that the Rapporteur was forced to recommend a negative vote before ultimately removing his authorship.

"During their first important legislative vote of the new Parliamentary term and in previous votes in the Economic and Monetary Affairs Committee, MEPs have shown themselves to be extremely regressive
