Trichet says IMF representation progressing

European Central Bank president Jean-Claude Trichet has said the process of giving the ECB a higher profile in the IMF is going in the right direction, although he would prefer progress to be quicker.

"There is a process which is going in the right direction. Of course, we would like ourselves that process to be a little bit more rapid but I would not be negative on the process that I'm observing," he said.
