Book planned on history of the Riksbank

The Executive Board of Sweden's Riksbank has decided to produce a book on the history of the Riksbank, aimed at those interested in society and history. The book is expected to be ready at the end of 2008.

At present there is no general historical account that covers the Riksbank's activities. The Riksbank is the world's oldest central bank, and was founded in 1668.

The book will be written by Gunnar Wetterberg. Mr Wetterberg is a historian who has worked at the Swedish Ministry for Foreign
