Carlos Hurtado named to Mexico central bank board

Mexican president Felipe Calderon nominated Carlos Hurtado, a former deputy finance minister in charge of spending, to the central bank board, Bloomberg reported Tuesday 13 February.

Mexico's Senate, which on Tuesday received Calderon's proposal, is responsible for confirming Hurtado as one of Banco de Mexico's four deputy governors, according to an e-mail statement sent by the president's office and quoted by Bloomberg.
