Central bankers shift funds from US to eurozone

Central banks are reducing their holdings of dollars in favour of the euro, according to a survey of 65 central banks published on Monday 24 January by Central Banking Publications.

Almost 70 per cent of the 56 central banks that provided details of changes in their reserves said they boosted holdings of the 12-nation currency, according to the survey sponsored by Royal Bank of Scotland Group Plc.
