Iran to print higher denomination notes

The central bank of Iran has said it intends to print 20,000 rial banknotes, double the value of the current highest denomination banknote. The new notes will be issued in February next year.

In a concession to the high inflation weighing on Iranian pockets, Iran's central bank has announced it will soon print 20,000 rial (2.4 dollar) banknotes, double the maximum denomination currently in circulation.

Head of reserves at Iran's Central Bank, Jalal Jalilian, told the local press that

Only users who have a paid subscription or are part of a corporate subscription are able to print or copy content.
