Weber sees inflation around 2 pct to end-2008

Bundesbank president Axel Weber said in an interview published Thursday 15 February he expects eurozone inflation to be around 2.0 pct between now and the end of 2008.

But he said the European Central Bank will need to maintain "strong vigilance" in the face of continued inflation risks.

"We expect an inflation rate of around 2 pct until the end of 2008. With a continued high level of excess liquidity, we must therefore show strong vigilance on price risks," he said in an interview with German
