Counterfeit notes in Solomon Islands

The Central Bank of Solomon Islands has reported the circulation of counterfeit notes throughout the country's banking system. The central bank's currency and operations manager, Daniel Haridi told national broadcaster that it is hard to say how many notes are circulating in the system.

Haridi said a commercial bank had alerted the central bank about the presence of counterfeit $50 dollar notes, which came through their deposits. The suspect notes, he said, had been sent overseas for analysis
