Bank of England ready for 'more turbulent times'

The Bank of England said on Monday 19 February that it will be able to keep inflation under control even if inflation becomes more unpredictable than during the past decade.

``The environment is unlikely to be so benign'' in the future as it has been in the past 10 years, the central bank said in written testimony to the Treasury Select Committee. ``The present policy framework should have the capacity to withstand more turbulent times.''
