Shiokawa - Government, BOJ In Agreement On Policy

JAPAN - Finance Minister Masajuro Shiokawa said 21 August the government and the Bank of Japan were in agreement on policy and the central bank was taking into account the administration's views on policy.

The BOJ "is taking into account what the government thinks in deciding policy, " Shiokawa said. "We're breathing in step with each other."

Appearing on a radio show, Shiokawa reiterated that his calls for "price adjustments" don't amount to "inflation targets".
