IIE sees strong economic growth in coming years

The Institute for International Economies (IIE) says that world economic growth will reach its highest rate in a generation in 2004 led by strong performances in the US and emerging Asia, before moderating in 2005.

In its semiannual global forecast report, the US economic research center said that the real gross domestic product (GDP) inthe world will increase at a rate of 4.75 percent in 2004 followedby a 4 percent rise for 2005. This will be the strongest two-year increase in world output since
